"I remember seeing the 982 at a very early age and one of my dreams as a kid was to climb into her cab and imagine I was on some great run. Now, the opportunity has presented itself where I am the leader of a group of individuals who also share the dream of making the 982 run. Will it be easy? No. Will it be worthwhile? Absolutely. I want everybody to come along on this journey with us. The 982 is Houstons' locomotive, maintained and overhauled in Houston, run and serviced by men, women (during World War II ) of every race and is testimony to the effort it took to keep a nation moving. It's time to show the rest of the world what the 982 can do and serve as the roving ambassador for the citizens of Houston."
